Beverly Akin President Admin Assistant 3: Athletics Business Office Beverly Akin is in her 8th year at the University of New Mexico and works in the Athletic Department as an Administrative Assistant III. She has been a union member for over 4 years. Beverly is an Albuquerque native and is currently taking classes majoring in American Studies with a minor in Geology.

Shoshana Handel First Vice-President, and Grievance Committee Chair Academic Advisor: Economics Department Shoshana Handel is Academic Advisor for the Department of Economics. The Union is important to her because she sees it as a positive way to improve working conditions at UNM. Her main goal is to increase membership and empower employees. |

She is a current union member. Rolanda is a New Mexico native and is currently taking classes majoring in Psychology with a minor in Navajo.

Sam Roth Secretary Sr Academic Advisor: College of Nursing Sam Roth has been with UNM for over three years. He is a native New Mexican and received both a bachelors and masters degree at UNM. He has a vested interest in helping UNM become an institution where the staff can have a reliably comfortable, professional, and satisfying work experience. Sam is also a member of the university’s Staff Council.
